Your AVC ID (Access Virtual Circuit Identifier) is a unique code tied to your individual nbn® connection. It’s 15 characters long and always starts with AVC, followed by 12 numbers — for example: AVC123456789100.

Why it matters

As of April 2025, nbn® requires your AVC ID in some scenarios — especially when switching providers or taking over an existing connection.

Providing your AVC (or OAC) ID helps:

  • Confirm you’re authorised to make changes
  • Prevent delays or incorrect disconnections
  • Identify the right service at multi-dwelling addresses

Your AVC ID is private — only you and your provider can access it. That means it also helps protect your connection from unauthorised transfers.

How to find your AVC ID

Already with Capti?

You’ll find your AVC ID:

  • On your Capti invoice – usually on page one, near your service address
  • In the Capti portal or app:
    • Go to Services
    • Select your NBN service
    • Your AVC ID will appear next to your service address

Switching to Capti?

Check your current provider’s invoice or online account — it’s typically listed near the service address. If its not there, you will need to give them a call and ask for it.
