Introduction: To make the most of your new Capti Vision Network service, it's essential to have the right equipment. The type of equipment you require depends on the specific technology used for your  connection:

For VDSL2+ services:

You must have a VDSL2 modem. If you already have a modem/router, refer to the device manual or give our support team a call to confirm the following:

  1. The modem must have VDSL2 technology
  2. The most must support VLAN tagging on the VDSL2+ WAN interface.

For G.Fast services:

You must have a Ethernet/WAN router for a G.Fast connection. If you already have a router, refer to the device manual or give our support team a call to confirm the following:

  1. The modem must have a plug on the back with a WAN label.
  2. The modem's WAN port must be Gigabit for stable service.

Your modem should be ‘unlocked’ – if yours came from another internet service provider, sometimes they do a sneaky thing on the device to stop you from using it with another ISP. You may contact your old provider to ask them about this. If you’ve purchased one of our routers (or modems), you can rest easy knowing that it is fully unlocked and works with your service.

Installation Appointment:

A technician appointment is required to connect your Capti Vision FTTB service. Here's what you need to know:

  • Availability: You or someone aged 18 or older must be present at your premises on the scheduled installation day.
  • Appointment Scheduling: After Capti accepts your order, a technician will reach out to you to schedule the installation appointment.

Installation Day:

On the scheduled installation day, a qualified technician will perform the following tasks:

  • Connection to MDF: The technician will connect your new Capti Vision service from your building's Main Distribution Frame (MDF) to your telephone socket. This step ensures a direct and reliable connection to our network.
  • For G.Fast Services: If you have selected G.Fast services, the technician will also install a Network Termination Unit (NTU) that requires a 240-volt power supply. The NTU is essential for delivering high-speed internet over our network.

Access to MDF:

If you do not have access to your building's MDF, please reach out to your body corporate or equivalent authority. They can provide the necessary access or guidance to ensure a successful installation.

Transitioning from Other Providers:

After your Capti Vision FTTB service becomes active, it's important to manage your existing services with other providers. Here's what you need to do:

  • Contact Other Providers: If you have other services such as phone or internet from a different provider, you'll need to contact them to cancel those services and avoid additional bills.
  • Check for Contracts and Termination Fees: We recommend checking with your current provider regarding any existing contracts, termination fees, or obligations. Capti Vision FTTB is not responsible for any charges related to contracts or termination fees with other providers.
